Ivan & friends April 2024: Great place to stay, 3 of us were visiting to do some walking. Squeezed in a parkrun on the Saturday morning which starts just behind the property. It's a lovely property, and hosts were great. Breakfast included in the morning, and they were very flexible on the timing. Dolgellau is a very picturesque town, a good few pubs and places to eat. Will definitely stay here again if heading to that area.
Amelie & friends January 2024: Hanneke and Ian are very welcoming and adorable. Communication with them was a simple one. The accommodation is very clean, tastefully decorated, you feel good there. The village is very cute and there are nice restaurants, places to get a snack...
Sarah July 2024 - Plas Isa is brilliant. It's the best hostel I've stayed in. Hosts Hanneke and Ian are friendly, accommodating and informative. The hostel is very comfortable, super clean, cosy and relaxed. Beds, shower, breakfast, kitchen, garden are all top notch. It's in a great position. We used public transport but its location suits bike and car users too.
Alice March 2024 - We had a fabulous stay with Hanneke & Ian. Amazing 5-star hosts who went out of their way to help us during our stay. Were very helpful for cyclists - fantastic storage facilities and incredibly welcoming. We look forward to coming again on our next adventure!
Jo October 2023 - Loved this place. All the best bits of a hostel (kitchen, drying room, friendly living spaces) with the feel of a boutique hotel! We named it a ‘poshtel’. 100% recommend!

Dan September 2024 - Hanneke and Ian were lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. The room was very clean and spacious with a shared kitchen and living room with breakfast provided. Great location in the centre of Dolgellau, a couple minutes walk to the town square and plenty of pubs and restaurants. Highly recommend, if we’re in the area again we will be glad to stay here again!
William August 2024 - Ian and Hanneke were extremely friendly and responsive from booking to check out! They went the extra mile with recommendations and are clearly super proud (as they should be!) of their place and their surroundings too. The water pressure on the showers was 👌They were often around the hostel and keen to chat, so I'm sure if we were short of something to do we wouldn't be short of an idea! We would highly recommend ☺️ thanks I & H!
Sanne & Fiona August 2024 - Our stay at the bed and breakfast in Dolgellau was wonderful. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast prepared by the kind and welcoming hosts. They provided lots of recommendations for walks and places to eat, and were very helpful when our car broke down. The B&B was cosy and perfectly located in the heart of Dolgellau, making it easy to explore the town. Breakfast and the shared kitchen, dining room and sitting room also provided the opportunity to meet and talk with the other guests, which made the experience even more memorable. We highly recommend this place for a warm and welcoming stay!
Rhys & friends June 2024 - Absolutel superb place to stay! As a group of 4 mountain bikers, we arrived sodden and very muddy after day 1 of the Traws Eryri trail, Ian and Hanneke welcomed us into their wonderful hostel, hosed us down, and helped us get our kit clean and dry! What a welcome! Ideally situated in the centre of Dolgellau, great drying facilities, and fantastic large and well decorated rooms! Would strongly recomend to Mountain Bikers (as well as non-Mountain Bikers too!!!). Thanks again for a fantastic stay!
Chris February 2024 - Lovely place to stay. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Perfect for walking a very short distance to restaurants and pubs. Ideal for hiking Cadair Idris, being just a 10min drive away. Great value and would definitely return. Fully recommend!
Ivvy July 2024 - Hanneke and Ian are the personification of hospitible, we had the most remarkable time in Plas Isa and can't wait to go back. the accomodation is comfy and in a convenient location, the hosts are highly knowledgeable about the local area and were able to recommend places to walk, swim and eat. the provided breakfast is excellent and the cooking facilities are ample so it is easy to self cater. we can't wait to return!

Sue August 2024 - Ian and Hanneke are so friendly. They worked seamlessly to make our stay as comfortable as at home. They came out to meet us when we about to arrive, directed us to car park and checked us in, answered all our queries. All the documents , maps, walking routs and the booklets in the dinning room offered plenty of information to give us sufficient idea about the area. Ian himself is a living information book, he gave me lots of ideas about where to go.
The couple was so thoughtful. When we mentioned that we would start our journey early so would not be able to wait for their cooked breakfast, Hanneke prepared cereal, milk, bread, fruits, yogurt and juices for us. We were really touched by their warm heart. The place is very clean. The kitchen is very convenient if you prefer to cook your own food. I will go back if I visit north Wales again.
Luke May 2023 - Exceptional customer experience. Ian & Hanneke demonstrate the upmost sincerity and care in what they do. By the end of my stay, it felt like I had visited friends. In my opinion, the upper echelons of customer experience are met when you no longer feel like a customer. I am delighted that I chose to stay at Plas Isa; in particular, because I no longer have to deliberate as to where I will stay whenever I visit Snowdonia in the future. I have found my favourite! If you are visiting the area for a hiking trip (or similar activity), you would be doing exceptionally well to find a superior place to stay. I earnestly look forward to staying at Plas Isa again, when I revisit the area to enjoy nearby mountains such as Cader Idris, Cnicht, & Aran Fawddwy. Thanks to Ian & Hanneke for making my holiday a memorable one. See you again soon!
